Privacy at Look Up!

We at Look Up! are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly. While we are currently operating as a pre-incorporation startup based in Switzerland, we comply with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (rev-FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who We Are

Look Up! is a Swiss-based, pre-incorporation health tech startup working to build a new AI-powered mental health navigation platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data — especially in relation to our waitlist, newsletters, and early product engagement.

By signing up for Look Up!’s updates, waitlist, or assessments, you consent to the processing of your personal data in accordance with this Privacy Policy and Swiss data protection law.

Until formal incorporation, Johanna Strauss acts as the data controller for Look Up!. Once Look Up! is incorporated as a legal entity, this responsibility will be formally transferred.

Depending on how you engage with Look Up!, we may process:


a) Waitlist and communication

  • To register you on our waiting list
  • To send you updates on our progress, launch timelines, or beta opportunities
  • To send occasional emails (newsletters, surveys, onboarding)


b) Early product testing and development

  • To offer optional self-assessment tools
  • To understand user needs and improve navigation logic
  • To validate our AI guidance engine (see section 12)


c) Analytics

  • To monitor interest and identify general trends (only pseudonymised data).


Why do we collect your data?

We process your data to:

  • Add you to our waiting list or newsletter
  • Communicate project updates, invitations, and onboarding
  • Allow you to complete optional early assessments
  • Improve our platform based on user needs
  • Train and improve our AI mental health navigation model (see section 6)
  • Fulfil legal obligations under Swiss and applicable EU law


We collect data:

  • Directly from you – when you sign up, complete assessments, or contact us
  • Automatically – via cookies and analytics tools (browser info, referral source)
  • We do not collect data from third-party brokers or advertisers

Who may receive your personal data?

a) Look Up! internal team

Access is limited to individuals who need it to perform their role, such as:

  • Product development
  • AI training
  • Communications and support


b) Third- party service providers

We may use trusted Swiss or EU-based services (e.g. for hosting, email, analytics):

  • Hosting provider (based in Switzerland)
  • Analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics)

All providers are contractually bound to follow strict data protection and confidentiality standards.


We may use third-party service providers, such as:

  • Cloud infrastructure and hosting providers (e.g., secure Swiss-based servers or Amazon Web Services EU)
  • Data processing and analytics providers (e.g., for pseudonymised behavioural insights)
  • AI and model training infrastructure providers (e.g., hosted Jupyter environments, Swiss-based data pipelines)


These third parties are selected with care and are contractually required to:
• Comply with Swiss and EU data protection standards
• Maintain strong technical and organisational safeguards
• Process data only on Look Up!’s instructions
• Never use your data for their own purposes

Use of data for AI development

We use AI and machine learning to improve our mental health navigation system. Data may be used to:

  • Identify symptom patterns
  • Improve decision support recommendations
  • Train our AI models

Only pseudonymised data is used. No automated decisions are made about you without human oversight. You can opt out of data being used for AI training by emailing us.

Where your data is stored and processed?

All Look Up! data is:

  • Stored in Switzerland
  • Processed exclusively in Switzerland

We do not transfer your data abroad.

How long do we keep your data?

We only retain personal data for as long as it is necessary for our development and communication purposes, or until you withdraw your consent.


  • Waitlist entries- until 12 months post-launch or deletion request
  • Newsletter emails- Until you unsubscribe
  • Assessment data- Up to 5 years or deletion
  • AI training data- Retained pseudonymously indefinitely, unless requested otherwise

Your rights

Under Swiss data protection law (and GDPR, if applicable), you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate or outdated data
  • Withdraw your consent at any time
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Request data portability (in machine-readable form)
  • Object to data processing (in certain cases)
  • File a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC)
